Triple Glazing

  • If you’re looking for energy-efficient triple glazing, you’ll love our stylish and high-performing range of windows.

Triple glazing isn’t radically different to double glazing. In fact, it uses the same principle. The two gaps between the three panes are deprived of normal air and replaced with a heavy gas called argon. This makes it harder for heat to escape and cold to enter. The end result is a home that’s warm during winter and cool during summer.

Innovation sits at the heart of all we do. We’re always asking how we can do things better and this is reflected in the market-leading triple glazing we manufacture at our state-of-the-art facility. The additional pane in our windows will help your home to maintain heat and maximise its energy efficiency.

Triple glazing is popular in colder countries, like Sweden and Norway. Its ability to retain heat and keep noise out means it’s becoming an increasingly popular choice with homeowners in the UK too.

Common Questions

Will triple glazing make a difference?

Compared to double glazing, undoubtedly. It is a more effective insulator and capable of producing lower U-values. What is a U-value? It’s a numerical score that indicates how effective a material is at insulating. The lower the score, the more effective the window will be at keeping your home warm.

As an example, a brick wall would yield a U-value of 2.0, which isn’t that great. Double glazed windows might produce a score as low as 1.2. Choose triple glazing and you could cut that number in half.

How long will my triple glazed windows last for?

Without knowing where you live, or how well maintained your windows will be, it’s hard to estimate. The installer you choose – and the products they use – will also affect the answer. Our triple glazing includes a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty as standard. So, if you look after your windows by wiping them down and hoovering debris from the frames, your units could last 20 years or longer.

Should I swap double glazing for triple glazing?

Triple glazing is a more effective insulator. If your double glazed windows are old and no longer performing, upgrading is advisable, especially if you live in a rural area where temperatures can drop suddenly and severely. If your home is located in the suburbs, it might take longer to notice a difference. Overall, though, triple glazing is an investment and will improve your home’s market value.

How is triple glazing different to double glazing?

Both work in the same way by insulating your home, protecting it from cold air and unwanted noise. In both cases, the area between the panes is starved of air, which is then replaced by a dense gas that prevents cold transfer. The key difference? Triple glazing consists of an additional pane, also filled with gas, thereby amplifying the original effect to make your home even warmer and quieter.
